1408

OK horror movie. It’s about a guy who will try to live in a mystic room with number 1408, where various people have died or gone insane.

Pathfinder

It’s a Viking action movie, which is inspired from a well-known Norwegian movie from 1987 called Veiviseren (which means pathfinder!). The new version of Pathfinder from Hollywood is a more stylish version with cool visuals and action scenes. The visuals actually remind of 300, which also used comic book look.

Fida

Cool romantic thriller from 2004, which was Shahid Kapoor’s second movie as a hero (his very first was actually Taal where he danced in the background in the song Kahin Aag Lage Lag Jave). It was also the second movie of the director, Ken Ghosh, who gave Ishq Vishk before this one where Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao got their debut.

Surprisingly, despite Fida’s great qualities, it failed at the box office which is un-understandable. Maybe it was the bad luck of Shahid + Kareena-jodi? The story begins as a romantic movie, but at the middle it switch to an interesting thriller. The scenes are well executed, and its one of the few movies where Fardeen Khan suited very well in his role. In addition, Shahid and Kareena also provided good performances.

Hum

Excellent movie when it came in 1991. The movie is actually a thriller, but as in a traditional bollywood manner, it includes humour, songs, action etc. It has some of the typical clichés from the 90’s and script faults, but is still interesting.

Lost - Season 3

The third season of Lost is reasonable interesting, but as I mentioned for the previous season, it seems more like soap than a series. In addition, some of the characters are also getting boring. Locke is almost insane, Jack is boring with his boring problems etc. Sawyer has started being a cool guy with his negative shades, a so-called anti-hero.

The Kingdom

All right action thriller. The story begins with a bomb blast in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which was targeted on American citizens in Riyadh. The bomb kills various people, and our American (super) heroes from FBI travels to Riyadh to help their Arabic colleagues. The Arabic colleagues are off course hopeless non-engaging with almost no competence in investigation, and in such case, our great American heroes helps them with great efforts!! Such patriotic scripts are simply boring, and this also the rating of the movie, which of course could have been better without such patriotic clichés.

Anjaam

OK and good movie from 1994, and it came after the breakthrough of Shahrukh Khan. It was good when it came, but today, you’ll find various script faults. The climax was good executed, and the rating which is based on when it came is following:

Rating: 5 of 6

Rambo

All right action movie with relatively thin story. However, the great plus side is its beautifully and brutally shot action scenes. Perhaps, they are among the best war action scenes seen ever in a movie.

Sarkar Raj

This is the much awaited sequel to Sarkar. The movie is phenomenal, but I am confused whether it is worth full rating or only five. I preliminary give it five, and maybe improve it later when I am sure after watching it numerous times.

The movie has more or less the same style as the previous one, and is full of surprises.

Dead Man Walking

All right time pass drama movie about a guy who is awaiting death penalty, and a nun tries to help him. Actually, it had music by the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Woodstock Villa

The movie is a stylish dark thriller with some dark humour. This is actually common in the movies from the producer, Sanjay Gupta. He’s previously produced Kaante, Musafir, Zinda and many more.

Woodstock Villa unfortunately has a story which isn’t that inspiring, and has been used earlier. In addition, the script has some basic faults. That is probably reason for why it flopped. Bad luck for Anupam Kher’s son, Sikandar Kher who had this one as his debut film.
