Münich / München

Münich is the story of the secret Israeli squad assigned to track down and assassinate the 11 Palestinians believed to have planned the 1972 Münich massacre of 11 Israeli athletes. The movie isn’t as pro-Israel as we can have thought if we take into consideration the director’s, Steven Spielberg, Jewish and pro-Israeli background. The director has highlighted his standpoints, which also are highly inspired by the book Vengeance.

The movie is categorized as a thriller, but I think the suspense aspect isn’t that high. The movie is much more drama than thriller. In addition, I think it’s too long, but you don’t get so bored because the script is good which evolves the story forward. The movie is well made in many respects, i.e. script, background score, the visual style etc. Unfortunately, the length smashes the movie watching experience…

Rating: 3 of 6

Mmm- I agree it's a bit too long, but that only made it drop from a 6 to 5 for me.
