Bachna ae Haseeno

A useless movie, which gives you feeling of that you have watched similar movies numerous times earlier. Ranbir Kapoor is following the formula of his father (Rishi Kapoor) and playing player/romantic/bachelor roles, which doesn’t seems to work that well.

The latest Yash Raj movies have lacked their traditional magic. The producers there are running around with kissing contracts, and they are thinking that they are making movies.

Melinda & Melinda

Interesting movie in typical Woddy Allen style.

Saw IV

Just another milk cow project from the producers. The movie has a thin story, and has only brutal scenes to offer.

The Matrix

This is one of my favourite movies, so there shouldn’t be any surprise that I watched it for 5th or 6th time now. But I think I’ve begun to be somehow fed up with it. It ain’t that interesting anymore when you remember most of scenes. Some of the action sequences are still thrilling, so it wasn’t waste of time at all to watch it again.

Taal

Nice musical love story from 1999. It had fantastic music by A.R. Rahman, and this album is one his best work. Anil Kapoor was nice in his role as a cool music producer. The acting of Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai wasn’t that convincing, but the movie survived.

It was a lot of product placement in the movie, and particularly of Coca-Cola, which was somehow irritating. It was simply too much.

Otherwise, a good movie.

Singh is Kinng

A funny action movie, where a number of the jokes deals around the Sikhs and their down to earth mentality. This actually reminds of another similar movie, Jo Bole So Nihaal, which came some years ago and flopped badly. One of the reasons was the movie provoked the Sikh community and led to several demonstrations and boycott. Another reason was the low popularity of Sunny Deol in those days.

“Singh Is Kinng” has been appreciated by the Sikh community, and is already a huge success with a good reason; the movie is actually funny and is one of the better one of the comedies lately.

Henrik Langeland: Francis Meyers lidenskap

Contract

Yet another underworld action thriller by the master of such movies; Ram Gopal Varma. This time, the movie is treated like a B-grade movie, and reminds of Satya (1998) which turned out to be an unpredictable huge success. Contract has all right script and story, but after watching numerous movies with the same subject, it has to be really outstanding in order to leave a rememberable experience.

Next

All right time pass science fiction action thriller. Actually, a number of the scenes weren’t good enough executed digitally, and you could clearly see that they were added by use of CGI.

The Wire – Season 1

It’s an interesting series about the drugs business in Baltimore, where the police has an investigation to catch the criminals. In this series, you’ll see the police’s point of view, and what actually is going on in terms of internal politics, corruption and other non-effective activities. At the same time you’ll also see the internal gang wars between the criminals. This kind of showing of both perspectives works well, and you’ll see that you don’t always have clearly good –and bad guys.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend

Boring romantic comedy about a pair and the girl has super natural power. I am actually fed up of many of these superhero kinds of movies these days, but unfortunately I still gave this one a chance. After watching it for around 40 minutes, the time was up to throw more time on this boring movie.

Don

Now, I’ve watched this movie for around 7th or 8th time, and therefore I would like to use this opportunity to upgrade the rating from last time a commented it. The movie is simply brilliant executed, and particularly the climax. In addition, the background picture of the climax is amazing. And Boman Irani is simply rocking in his role!

Kismat Konnection

A not so extra ordinary romantic movie, with almost a typical filmy romantic story.

Mission Istaanbul

An action movie, which has some well-executed sequences, but the script disappoints and have several clichés. The story deals around a TV channel which has a name similar to Al-Jazeera, and uses multiple pictures of some characters which are too similar to Osama Bin Laden. Doesn’t it seem like a propaganda movie?

Some of action scenes are copied from The Matrix, and some of the scenes have used awful CGI effects. The movie is a time passing entertainment, but based on this kind of movies, some times you urge to scream; Bollywood stinks. But when we take into consideration the numerous great movies, you’ll hesitate saying so.

The Dark Knight

Superb and great action movie! The character of the Joker is played damn good by Heath Ledger. Hats off for the guy.

A lot of super hero movies tend to be predictable, but I can assure you that with this movie, you will not experience that. The movie takes unpredictable turns, both in terms of the story and character evolvement. By this, you will experience more of characters than only good action. The concept of exploring the characters works very good, and gives the movie a new dimension which results in a dazzling movie watching experience.

The background music is also superb, just like many other things in the movie.
