Naboer (Neighbours)

Naboer (Neighbours) is the most fascinating Norwegian movie produced ever! This was stated after watching it when it was released over one year ago. The statement was based on the experience of the movie and what we (me and my friend) thought what kind of techniques the director had used.

But when I watched it again today with commentary from director, it was confirmed that the movie was more than what we had thought. It has been used techniques to give us the optimal experience and knowing about such things is in fact what makes us interesting in the field of movie making. It is about how the story is structured, the right choice of music and cinematography to make the right setting. Really well done!

Guru

Abhishek Bachchan has gives one of his best performances in Guru. The film deals with a unique topic seen in typical bollywood cinema context. I liked the firm ¾ of the movie better than the climax at the end.

The Prestige

The director of Memento and Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan, gives a really good movie. It is about magic and tricks, which most of us as children were really fascinated of so it was cool to look into that world set in 1895-1905. In addition, Nolan proves his story telling capabilities again after the master piece, Memento. The switch between flashback and the real time functions good, and the end were remarkable. And of course, how could I forget to mention that Scarlett Johansson was in this movie, so that in itself is a reason to watch this movie. :)

Wire in the Blood / Arr i Sjelen

Wire in the Blood is a crime series which was on TV during an Easter. The pack of first season was consisting of 3 DVD which were 3 stories. The first story wasn’t that good, but the next two were good. One of the main characters is a psychologist who helps the police to catch serial killers. The ability he uses let me think about what an exciting psychology is with particular focus on profiling.

The Kite Runner

The Kite Runner by the Afghani author, Khaled Hosseini, is a good book with a touching story. The author has a nice style of storytelling, which didn’t create any problems to read this book.

However, sometimes the story reminds of some kind of propaganda. Still it is difficult to say whether it is propaganda or not, taking into consideration the fact that I haven’t experienced any of the things which are mentioned in the story.

Pusher 3

Pusher 3 is the (preliminary) last movie of the trilogy of the Danish action movies Pusher. This one is based on the character Milo which also was included in number two and three. The movie is good, and is ended beautifully brutally. In addition, the background score is also good, and especially the music which plays during end credits. It was just so good and gives you a summary of what the Pusher movies are about.

Anwar

Anwar has some good songs so I gave it a chance, and again I was some disappointed. I thought that this movie is going to be enough good to get a rating close to Iqbal which didn’t happen.

The movie has an interesting story which is screwed up by some third class makers and especially screenplay writer. In addition, it is too long, and could easily been cut by 10-20 minutes.

Brick

I really had huge expectations for this movie when a friend told me this movie had so smart screenplay. However, the movie wasn't that good and didn't had that smart screenplay, so I got some dissapointed.

Stay Alive

Oh my God! What a sucking movie. The screenplay writer should find another job. Such a looose horror movie. You can easily use the time at the bathroom instead of watching this one!
